Have you ever noticed that in recent times (well let’s just say for arguments sake, the past 1-2 years), that society has become from bad to worse? It’s become such a daily occurrence that when you open the newspaper you see robbery, accidents, murder, rape, deforestation, war, corruption, the list can go on and on. I’m not even pondering on just what I see locally but on a global scale. Are we humans really the better species, or are we just the ones that can claim that; since cats, dogs, birds and all the other creatures have no way of expressing nor enforcing their superiority and don’t have a thumb? We are the only species that are currently known (correct me here if you disagree) to kill, maim, rape, pollute, cheat, lie and what other atrocities, just because we can. You don’t see your neighbor’s dog biting the head off kittens just because it feels like it. It may do so due to instinct but I’ve seen in my time mature dogs nurture, YES nurture a kitten.
I’m not saying all humans are bad, and I do not expunge my sins here and say I am a better person then the next I have done my wrong and probably will continue to do some in my future. But what I can never get around my head is as humans, are we destined to implode? Are we supposed to call the final bell on ourselves? At the rate we’re going we’ll either kill the entire race or we’ll just dry up our planet. Which everywhere it’s happening, it seems that we have set our path to critical implosion of our fine race. I’m not going to ask for the good old days either, back then things were not as great but more bearable I guess. Yes our past is not colorful, we had blatant racism, WW1, WW2, the civil war, the gulf war, the Cold war, the list could go on and you’ll never reach the end of my blog.
Now with growing times, we have all these technological advancements, airplanes, hovercraft, and computers, you name it and everything has been made to make life better. Yes sacrifices have been made for these advancements, but it is sad to see, though our material possessions have advanced, we have yet to fully develop our minds and thoughts. We are still in so many ways the riff raff, country bumpkin of the past that has yet to fully nurture a sense of decency. “Hate breeds hate”. These 3 words mean so much. What we know today is what we were tot, passed down generation to generations. So lets make the change, lets change the key word of “Hate” to “Love”, or even “tolerance”…we all can start “advancing” somewhere, lets give our future a chance, and hopefully, our great, great, great (ok…add as many “greats” you wish to add) great grand kids can have a planet still worthy of living on..
